Big 5 Sporting Goods Corporation is seeking an Assistant Manager Trainee (Part-time) to join our neighborhood sporting goods team in Gig Harbor, WA. The role emphasizes customer service excellence, leadership development, and hands-on training under experienced managers to prepare you for future management positions.

You will perform a variety of duties from assisting customers, merchandising and signage, to opening/closing procedures and training new associates.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic math and organizational skills.
• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Flexible scheduling and ability to lift light to moderate loads.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service and assist customers throughout the store.
• Answer phone calls and respond to customer inquiries.
• Merchandising and compliance with company policies; setting promotional signage.
• Assist with store opening and closing procedures.
• Train newly hired associates and direct sales and cashier staff.
• Inventory control and enforcement of loss prevention policies.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked sales floor.
