Job summary

KBR is seeking a Special Operations Nurse Case Manager / Case Manager (Part-Time) in the National Capital Region. The role involves delivering professional nursing care, case management, and coordination for DoD beneficiaries under established protocols.

A multi-disciplinary approach and clear communication with stakeholders are essential. The position requires US citizenship, active nursing licensure, and the ability to obtain or maintain appropriate security clearances.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship required.
• Secret or Top Secret clearance or ability to obtain.
• Current licensure as RN or LCSW in DC/PR/VI/US territories.
• Minimum of two years nursing or case management experience; certification within first year.
• Ability to educate patients and manage complex medical, psychosocial, and financial problems.
• Ability to seek feedback to improve clinical practice and outcomes.
• Experience consulting with healthcare providers and negotiating services.
• Maintain clinical privileges and credentialing requirements.

Responsibilities

• Collect, organize and communicate data for health assessments to develop treatment plans.
• Assess patients via telephone using established protocols for cost-effective care.
• Set priorities for patient care and monitor progress toward goals.
• Oversee discharge-planning activities to optimize timing of care.
• Assist health care finders to identify patient needs for referrals to appropriate providers.
• Negotiate and manage service agreements to meet care goals.
• Use guidelines to ensure evidence-based standardized care for military beneficiaries.
• Understand healthcare financing and population health to steward resources.
• Use research tools to evaluate practices and outcomes.
• Manage information systems to communicate results to stakeholders.
• Design and present outcome analyses to educate peers and leadership.
• Know pharmaceuticals, effects, side effects, and complications affecting recovery.
