Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred; MA licensure in Teacher of Students with Moderate Disabilities (PreK-8) with SEI endorsement.
• Experience with Autism Spectrum and challenging behaviors preferred.
• CORI, SORI, DCF checks and fingerprinting as determined by the Superintendent.
• Competency in current educational technology.

Responsibilities

• Champion the district's effort to effectively and successfully serve all students.
• Commitment to curriculum, instruction, and assessment with fidelity of implementation.
• Analyze data and share information to inform instruction and support student achievement.
• Plan a program of study meeting individual student needs, interests, and abilities.
• Differentiate instruction using varied academic strategies.
• Collaborate with grade-level teachers to modify curriculum for special needs students and increase inclusion opportunities.
• Maintain strong behavior management and crisis intervention skills.
• Oversee paraprofessionals as designated by the Principal or Superintendent.
• Complete and maintain records and documentation per state and federal regulations.
• Act as a Mandated Reporter and comply with crisis intervention policies.
• Participate in case conferences, team meetings, and faculty meetings as assigned.
• Establish and maintain individual student behavior standards for a productive classroom.
• Communicate with parents and staff on student progress and develop IEP goals.
• Engage in ongoing professional growth and development.
