Job summary

Bradley County School District is seeking a Special Education Assistant - Part-Time, Interim to work in a self-contained classroom under the direction of the Special Education Teacher. The Para Pro will support students with disabilities across social, physical, adaptive, and intellectual growth according to the teacher's programs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associates Degree or Praxis required or preferred.
• Experience with students with disabilities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist classroom teacher to perform duties and support instructional objectives.
• Work with individuals or groups to implement activities.
• Assist with behavior modification as directed by the leader.
• Lift, move, and operate adaptive equipment as needed.
• Help with personal care tasks (toileting, hygiene, clothing).
• Escort students and assist with mobility and transportation.
• Monitor safety and classroom behavior.
• Provide programmed practice activities as planned by teachers or therapists.
• Maintain records and assist with documentation.
• Perform related tasks as required.
