Job summary

Canyon View High School in the Iron County School District is hiring two Part-Time Level I Special Education Paraprofessionals to support students with disabilities for a 27.5-hour workweek. The positions remain open until filled.

The paraprofessional works under the Special Education Teacher to provide instructional support, observe and reinforce behavior, assist with instructional exercises, help manage the classroom, supervise students, and use basic computer tools including Google Docs;

Qualifications

• Basic computer knowledge and familiarity with Google Docs.

Responsibilities

• Provides instructional support assistance to students and student groups to reinforce and follow up learning activities.
• Assists in observing and recording student behavior and reinforces appropriate behavior.
• Assists certified educators with the presentation of learning materials and instructional exercises.
• Participates in the development, maintenance, and carrying out of systems for classroom management.
• Guides students in working and interacting harmoniously with other students.
• Supervises students in all areas of the school.
• Regular, reliable, predictable attendance and job performance is required.
• Operates various types of office equipment such as computers, copy machines, etc.
• Monitors students inside and outside of the building during lunch hour.
• Must be willing to learn and use all computer systems and software as needed.
