Job summary

Iron Springs Elementary School in Cedar City is seeking a Part Time Level II Special Education Paraprofessional to support students with disabilities under the direction of the Special Education Teacher. The position involves lifting and assisting students, implementing behavior plans, and using adaptive equipment.

You will provide instructional support, help observe and record behavior, assist with classroom management, and help students develop self-care skills as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provides instructional support to students and student groups to reinforce learning activities.
• Assists in observing and recording behavior and applying behavior management techniques.
• Assists certified educators with presentation of learning materials and instructional exercises.
• Assists in responsibilities related to physical and medical needs.
• Assists students with self-care needs as required (toileting, bathing, feeding, etc.).
• Participates in development and maintenance of classroom management systems.
• Guides students to interact harmoniously with peers.
• Supervises students within the school environment.
• Operates basic office equipment and computer systems; uses Google Docs and email.
