Job summary

Compass Group USA is seeking a Part-Time Seasonal Sous Chef at Carmax Park to support the Executive Chef in food prep and service. The role requires standing, lifting up to 50 pounds, and coordinating kitchen staff to meet production deadlines.

Qualifications

• Helps the Executive Chef prepare and cook foods following recipes.
• Supervises hourly food service associates, including scheduling and training.
• Stores food according to safety procedures and sanitation rules.
• Ensures proper food handling, presentation, and temperature control.
• Maintains sanitation of equipment and workstation throughout shifts.
• Interacts with customers to resolve complaints in a friendly manner.
• Understands daily menu items and explains them to staff and guests.
• Monitors peak production hours and inventory levels.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Stand for long periods and be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Cooks and prepares food following approved recipes and production standards; ensures deadlines based on production orders.
• Supervises hourly food service associates; interviews, scheduling, payroll, training, and reviews.
• Stores food in designated areas following safety procedures.
• Ensures proper food handling, presentation, portion control and temperatures.
• Maintains sanitation of equipment, supplies and utensils; cleans workstation before leaving area.
• Interacts with customers to resolve complaints in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
• Demonstrates understanding of daily menu items and explains them to staff and customers.
• Keeps up with peak production and service hours.
• Monitors inventory and deliveries; tracks production, consumption and waste.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Stand for long periods and be able to actively engage physically with guests.
• Lift/move materials and equipment up to 50 pounds.
