Job summary

Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC) invites applications for a part-time faculty pool within the General Education Pathway. Teaching may occur in-person at MATC campuses, at community sites, or online, with daytime, evening, and weekend assignments.

Start date mid-January 2027 for spring semester; assignments are temporary and dependent on course availability. Eligible candidates will have a master’s degree (Sociology or related field) and experience in diverse instructional settings.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Sociology or related field with 18 graduate credits in Sociology.
• Verifiable occupational work experience outside education.
• Experience teaching in face-to-face, blended, and online formats.
• Ability to maintain curriculum currency.
• Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver instruction in person and online across day/evening/weekend schedules.
• Develop and revise curriculum; participate in program evaluation.
• Collaborate with advisory committee and industry partners.
• Recruit and retain students; promote MATC programs.
• Support student organizations and campus activities.
• Attend departmental and institutional meetings and perform related duties.
