Qualifications

• Must have a master's degree or higher in Sociology or related field with at least 18 graduate-level sociology credits.
• Verifiable occupational work experience in a field other than education.
• Experience in teaching, using, and/or developing curriculum in a variety of classroom environments including face-to-face, blended, and online.
• Bilingual Spanish/English preferred

Responsibilities

• Prepare for and deliver instruction and perform teaching-related activities.
• Manage the classroom/laboratory.
• Develop curriculum and monitor and revise as appropriate to maintain course effectiveness; assist in program evaluation.
• Manage equipment, supplies and materials.
• Assess student performance and advise students on academic issues.
• Collaborate with the advisory committee in the program area.
• Attend departmental and institutional meetings.
• Promote the education/training program and participate in recruitment and marketing efforts.
• Support student organizations and activities.
• Develop relationships with business and industry.
• Complete program evaluation and follow-up.
• Maintain certification and stay current in the field.
