Job summary

Stotz Equipment is seeking a mechanically inclined Small Engine Technician to join our Service Department in Saint George, UT. This role focuses on diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of small engine and outdoor power equipment used by agricultural, commercial, and residential customers.

The ideal candidate will be safety-minded, customer-focused, and committed to delivering quality repairs that keep customers operating efficiently.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous experience repairing small engines, outdoor power equipment, lawn and garden equipment, compact construction equipment, agricultural equipment, or related mechanical systems preferred.
• Understanding of gasoline and diesel engine operation and repair.
• Ability to read and interpret service manuals, wiring diagrams, and technical information.
• Basic computer skills and ability to utilize dealership software systems.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain gasoline and diesel-powered small engine equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance and manufacturer-recommended service inspections.
• Troubleshoot fuel, electrical, cooling, hydraulic, and drivetrain systems.
• Use diagnostic software, service manuals, and technical resources to identify equipment issues.
• Complete work orders accurately, documenting customer concerns, diagnostics performed, repairs completed, and parts used.
• Communicate equipment repair needs and recommendations with service management.
• Perform operational testing to verify repairs and proper equipment performance.
• Maintain tools, shop equipment, and work areas in a clean and safe condition.
• Follow all company safety procedures and OSHA requirements.
• Participate in ongoing technical and manufacturer training programs.
