Stotz Equipment in Burley, Idaho is hiring a Shop Tech I / Apprentice to assist in diagnosing and repairing engine components, including small engines and some agricultural equipment. You will work alongside experienced technicians, gain hands-on training, and contribute to real repair work.

This entry-level role is designed for individuals who want to grow their skills, take on challenges, and build a long-term career in equipment repair.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical aptitude, professionalism, and willingness to learn.
• Own and maintain personal tools required for the job.
• Basic computer skills for diagnostics, work orders, and documentation.
• Excellent oral and written communication with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to operate vehicles, tools, and equipment used for diagnostics and repairs.
• Team-oriented with ability to learn from experienced technicians.
• Preferred: 1 year of student/entry-level mechanic experience.
• Exposure to agricultural, turf, or construction equipment repair, ideally John Deere.
• Mechanical trade school coursework or hands-on technical training.

Responsibilities

• Learn, practice, and assist with diagnostics, service repairs, and maintenance on customer and dealer-owned equipment.
• Follow direction from senior technicians and managers while building skills.
• Perform basic repairs and preventative maintenance under supervision with growing independence.
• Use diagnostic tools to troubleshoot equipment issues, including small engines and agricultural machinery.
• Document work performed accurately and on time.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Provide professional customer service when interacting with clients.
• Follow safety procedures and company policies to assure high quality and safety.
