Job summary

Meals on Wheels Orange County in Newport Beach is seeking a part-time site coordinator to oversee the Home Delivered Meal Program. You will receive meals, pack them per route sheets, greet volunteer drivers, manage volunteer schedules, and deliver meals in a personal vehicle within a 25-hour workweek.

The role requires interacting with participants, recruiting and training volunteers, maintaining records, ensuring food safety, and reporting to the Supervisor or Case Manager.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience preferred.
• Experience supervising staff and volunteers.
• Able to work with volunteers, staff, and clients of all ages.
• Read, interpret, and implement regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Maintain complex department records.
• Clear verbal and written communication skills.
• Must have own transportation and CA driver's license.
• ServSafe or Food Handlers certification within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Receive and package home-delivered meals per Route Sheets and Packing List.
• Recruit, train, and monitor volunteer drivers; track hours.
• Ensure food safety; monitor temperatures and cold-chain maintenance.
• Interact with participants; report client issues to supervisor.
• Coordinate holds or changes with clients and managers.
• Update route sheets and delivery instructions as needed.
• Arrange route coverage during volunteer absences.
• Maintain records and submit reports for the Home Delivered Meals program.
• Handle meal donations per policy; attend staff meetings as required.
