Job summary

Simulation & Immersive Learning Center at Texas A&M University seeks a Part-time Simulated Participant (SP) to portray realistic roles in healthcare simulations. The SP supports learners through authentic interactions, accurate feedback, and consistent performance across sessions in a controlled center environment.

This on-site role may include future remote telesimulation opportunities as needs arise; prior SP experience is an asset, and training will be provided to ensure adherence to program

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; experience in acting, teaching, or healthcare preferred but not mandatory.
• Prior experience as standardized patient, simulated patient, or simulated participant is an asset.
• Strong verbal and non-verbal communication to portray roles realistically; ability to memorize and recall detailed case information; emotional intelligence and adaptability; openness to feedback.

Responsibilities

• Portray assigned roles consistently based on case scenarios provided by the center.
• Provide constructive, objective feedback on communication, history-taking, physical examination, and interpersonal skills.
• Participate in debriefing sessions to support learner reflection and growth.
• Attend mandatory training sessions and prepare for each simulation by reviewing case scripts.
• Support hybrid simulations involving manikins or other modalities as directed.
