Job summary

SUS is seeking a Nutritionist to support an adult shelter, partnering with the Food Service Manager to ensure menus meet NYC DOH standards and address diverse dietary needs. This is a part-time consulting role offering flexibility and a weekly schedule of about 5–8 hours, with a preferred window on Wednesdays, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM.

The ideal candidate holds a BS in Nutrition (Master’s preferred) with active RD credentials and at least two years of clinical nutrition experience, able to work

Qualifications

• Active Registered Dietitian (RD) with the American Dietetic Association.
• Minimum of two years of experience.
• This position requires in depth clinical nutrition knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Actively participates in the interdisciplinary patient care process providing recommendations and education based on nutrition expertise.
• Researching the effects of nutrition on health and fitness.
• Remains abreast of current research in areas of expertise through networking and continuing education activities.
• Collaborate with the Food Service Manager on nutritional management for clients.
• Assists on menu preparation.
• Reviews menus to assure they are in alignment with the NYC DOH food standards.
• Assures nutritional guidelines are met for all clients with special food needs.
