Job summary

New Waterloo is seeking a part-time server to join our hospitality team and deliver a welcoming dining experience. You will take orders, serve guests, and ensure accurate payments while following service standards.

Responsibilities include explaining menu items, handling payments, adhering to liquor laws, and coordinating with the kitchen to provide seamless service.

Qualifications

• State-issued food handling + beverage certifications as required.
• 6+ months of related experience in the hospitality industry.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Strong communication and math skills

Responsibilities

• Take food and beverage orders, enter them into the POS system, and send them to the kitchen.
• Serve food and beverages to guests, preparing and garnishing dishes as required.
• Explain how various menu items are prepared, describing ingredients and cooking methods.
• Describe and recommend wine and specialty beverages to guests.
• Maintain product knowledge to inform guests of daily specials and make recommendations upon request.
• Adhere to state liquor laws and verify minimum age requirements for consumption of alcoholic beverages.
• See to each guest's special needs, including allergies or dietary restrictions.
• Prepare and maintain table settings for courses and stock service areas.
• Assist with running food and beverages, clearing tables, and escorting guests as needed.
• Ensure immediate response to guest comments and inform supervisor of issues.
• Manage order times and inform guests and management of delays.
• Prepare checks itemizing total costs and sales taxes, and collect payments.
• Clear dishes and glassware from tables and counters and maintain cleanliness.
• Stock service areas with dining supplies such as plates, utensils, glassware, and linens.

RAINBIRD is hiring for a PART-TIME SERVER

The rainbird's song brings the promise of rain and a plentiful harvest. Its prix fixe seasonal menu leads guests on a multi-course journey through innovative expressions of local produce and regional fare, paired with artisan cocktails and finely curated wine.

JOB SUMMARY

A Server is responsible for taking orders, serving food and beverages to guests, and adhering to the outlet’s steps of service. Service at New Waterloo is about combining great hospitality along with technical skills and warm personalities to create an upbeat, and welcoming environment.

What you'll do:

• Maintain product knowledge to inform guests of daily specials, answer questions about menu items, and make recommendations upon request
• Adhere to state liquor laws and regulations; verify minimum age requirements for consumption of alcoholic beverages
• Explain how various menu items are prepared, describing ingredients and cooking methods
• Describe and recommend wine and specialty beverages to guests

• Ensure immediate response is given to guest comments and concerns; inform immediate supervisor and apply corrective measures when necessary
• Manage order times and inform guests and management of any delays in service
• Maintain revenue by preparing checks that itemize total costs + sales taxes and collect accurate payments from guests
• Remove dishes and glassware from tables or counters, and take them to the kitchen for cleaning
• Clean tables or counters after guests have finished dining as needed
• Stock service areas with dining supplies such as plates, utensils, glassware, and linens

Who you are:

• You have s tate-issued food handling + beverage certifications as required.
• You have 6+ months of related experience in the hospitality industry.
• You can speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) of the workplace.
• You are able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• You can speak effectively before guests and groups of co-workers.
• You can navigate and operate computer and Point of Sale (POS) systems.
• You can apply concepts of math including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
