Job summary

The Great Outdoors Blue Heron Restaurant is seeking a Part-Time Server to provide exceptional guest service in a fast-paced dining room. You will greet guests, present menus, take orders, and ensure accurate payment processing while maintaining high hospitality standards.

This role requires teamwork, attentiveness, and the ability to balance multiple tables. Training on safety and alcohol service may be provided; flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is preferred.

Qualifications

• Previous serving or hospitality experience preferred but not required.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to obtain or maintain any required food handler or alcohol service certifications.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests promptly with a welcoming and professional attitude.
• Present menus, answer questions, and make food and beverage recommendations.
• Accurately take and enter guest orders into the point-of-sale (POS) system.
• Serve food and beverages in a timely and courteous manner.
• Monitor tables throughout the meal, anticipating guest needs and ensuring satisfaction.
• Process guest payments accurately using cash, credit cards, or other approved methods.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of dining areas, server stations, and beverage stations.
• Assist with opening and closing duties, including stocking supplies, setting tables, and cleaning work areas.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and alcohol service regulations.
• Communicate effectively with kitchen staff and fellow team members to ensure efficient service.
• Resolve guest concerns professionally and notify management of any issues requiring assistance.
• Assist with banquet, catering, and special events as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
