Commonwealth Senior Living in Grand Rapids is seeking a Part-time Cook for weekdays and alternating weekends. The role involves preparing and presenting meals, ensuring quality and dietary compliance, and supporting dining services for residents and events.

Join a team that emphasizes care and collaboration, with walk-in interview events on Wednesdays from 10am–12pm at 3956 Whispering Way. The position offers hourly pay of $17–$18 with potential benefits for full-time associates.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of cooking experience required.
• Working experience in the retirement home industry preferred.
• Knowledge of food, catering trends, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation required.
• Knowledge of methods and procedures for serving food, sanitation, and safe food handling required.
• Ability to lift up to 50lb required.
• Effective communication skills.
• Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment.
• Highly effective teamwork skills.
• Computer literacy, including MS Word, Excel and e-mail required.
• Attention to detail in all areas of work.
• Superior time management skills, multitasking skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks with minimal supervision.
• Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills.
• Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.

Responsabilités

• Prepare meals according to menus and nutritional plans.
• Ensure the quality of meals in regards to taste, presentation and dietary requirements.
• Maintain sanitary practices and safe food handling.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
• Assist with training of new employees.
• Arrive to work at the scheduled time and fill shifts as required.
