Job summary

MorningStar Senior Living in Santa Fe is seeking a part-time cook for our senior living community. You will prepare, cook, season, and serve nutritious meals following menus and dietary guidelines for residents.

The role requires attention to food safety, ability to work Friday, Saturday and Sunday 11:00am–7:00pm, and a commitment to compassionate care. High school diploma preferred, English literacy required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred, but ability to read and write English required.
• Experience in the dietary department of health care facility is preferred.
• Ability to prepare and cook a variety of foods in large quantities while following recipes and dietary restrictions.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook, season, and serve adequate, nutritious meals per menus.
• Follow dietary guidelines and approved recipes, ensuring palatable and attractive presentation.
• Maintain proper food-handling techniques and time/temperature controls.
• Estimate quantities to minimize waste and portion meals according to resident needs.
