Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree or higher preferred, preferably in accounting or bookkeeping.
  • Three or more years' full-time bookkeeping and accounts payable experience preferred.
  • Positive human relations skills; knowledge of business English, spelling and punctuation; knowledge of accounting practices; familiarity with grants procedures; ability to analyze budgets and maintain complex records.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain working relationship with college vendors regarding accounts payable.
  • Assist personnel with payables and/or grants questions.
  • Enter accounts payable information and maintain purchase order files; monitor reports.
  • Assist with payables, grants, and related communications.
  • Perform accounting technician duties including reconciliation and reporting.
  • Prepare manual checks when required.
  • Analyze grants and projects for the college, including budget analysis and project status.
