Job summary

ISP School Battle is seeking a dedicated One-to-One Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with SEN at our Battle site. The role is 22.5 hours per week across 3 days, term-time only, with one day per week accompanying a pupil to Plumpton College.

You will assist the class teacher, monitor progress, report concerns, and help with lesson planning and preparation, building positive relationships to promote learning and engagement. A DBS check will be completed by the school.

Qualifications

• Strong basic education, ideally to A-level, with GCSE C in English and Maths.
• Experience as a Teaching Assistant.
• Experience with SEMH in an educational setting.
• Ability to lead on a specialism (e.g., reading, mathematics, or forest school).
• Experience with behaviour management and willing to develop professionally.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and support one pupil or a small group (up to five).
• Support the classroom teacher during lessons.
• Report on pupils' progress and concerns, and liaise with other school staff to ensure pupils' needs are met.
• Supervision of pupils during non-classroom time, including extra-curricular activities and school trips.
• Assisting with lesson planning and classroom preparation; setting work where appropriate and marking.
• Building positive relationships with pupils and driving interaction and positive learning outcomes.
