Job summary

Allied Universal in Palo Alto, CA is seeking a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time College Degree Patrol. This role provides reliable hours at an assigned site with the flexibility to earn more by picking up additional shifts when available.

Pay rate is $26.40 per hour. The schedule is fixed with opportunities to scale to a full-time schedule up to 40 hours per week, plus training and career growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• At least two years of security-related experience.
• A college degree is required.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background investigation will be conducted as required by law.
• Drug screen will be administered where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and/or vendors at a technology, media, and telecommunications location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating issues according to established site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of office spaces, common areas, parking areas, and the property perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials as directed by site procedures, and report irregularities to appropriate personnel.
• Complete accurate activity logs, incident reports, and patrol documentation while communicating professionally with Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.
