Job summary

Allied Universal in Washington, DC is seeking a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Unarmed Patrol Visibility to provide reliable, visible security at an assigned site. This flexible role is designed for individuals seeking part-time work with steady hours and opportunities to pick up extra shifts.

You will perform campus patrols, monitor access points, respond to incidents, and prepare clear incident reports while upholding site policies and safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus partners while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established campus protocols and notifying appropriate personnel.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of campus buildings, walkways, parking areas, residence halls, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
• Monitor access points and report suspicious activity, hazardous conditions, maintenance concerns, and policy violations to the appropriate campus representatives.
• Prepare clear and accurate reports of incidents, observations, and patrol activities in accordance with Allied Universal and site-specific requirements.
