Job summary

Allied Universal® is seeking a Security Officer Juvenile Center Access Control in New York, NY to serve and safeguard clients across government and other sectors. This part-time role offers a flexible schedule and opportunities to grow within a leading security and facility services company.

As a Security Officer, you will patrol, monitor access points, provide excellent customer service to staff and visitors, and maintain accurate incident reports.

Qualifications

• Possess at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Possess at least 1 year of armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military experience.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and/or members of the public by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government services location.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; promptly notify appropriate site contacts and/or emergency responders as directed by post orders.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned interior and exterior areas, entrances, offices, common areas, and perimeter to help identify and report unusual conditions or unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with site procedures, assisting with entry protocols and directing individuals to appropriate areas as needed.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports and maintain required activity logs for incidents, patrols, and other security-related observations.
