Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer – Enhanced Part Time Screening Device Operator for Indianapolis, IN. This role offers reliable, fixed shifts with flexibility to pick up additional hours via our scheduling platform.

Pay rate is $17.22 per hour. The position includes day-time and weekend evening shifts, with responsibilities including screening, access control, and incident response at a designated site.

Qualifications

• Loss prevention experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• X-ray screening experience is preferred.
• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and delivery personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Screen personnel, visitors, packages, and/or shipments in accordance with site procedures and applicable access requirements.
• Monitor access points and verify credentials to help support authorized entry into logistics and distribution operations areas.
• Respond to incidents, prohibited‑item concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, escalating concerns according to site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned screening areas, access points, and perimeter locations; working environments and conditions may vary by client site.
