Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a part-time Security Officer to support our Sparrows Point, MD site. You will provide front-line security, enforce access control, and respond to incidents while supporting a flexible, part-time schedule.

The role offers fixed shifts and opportunities to pick up additional shifts across sites, with earning potential through the Pick-Up program and shift flexibility. Prioritizes safety, customer service, and reliable reliability.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Applicants subject to a background investigation.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may apply by state/local laws.
• A valid driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel by carrying out site‑specific access‑control procedures.
• Monitor access points and verify credentials, visitor registrations, and authorization requirements before entry.
• Maintain accurate access‑control records, issue and collect visitor badges and temporary credentials, and report discrepancies.
• Respond to access‑related incidents, alarms, and critical situations calmly and escalate as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of entry points, common areas, and business perimeter to deter unauthorized access and identify security concerns.
