Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a part-time Security Officer for California, MD to patrol and protect client sites in the technology, media, and telecommunications sectors. The role involves responding to incidents, maintaining logs, and providing professional customer service as part of a dynamic team.

You will support a shift-based schedule with a flexible Part Time arrangement and need an active DoD Secret Clearance.

Qualifications

• Possess at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Possess an active DoD Secret Clearance.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• A guard card/license is preferred.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and/or vendors at a technology, media, or telecommunications location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, access-control concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, escalating matters according to site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of offices, common areas, building entrances, parking areas, and the surrounding perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials as directed by site procedures, and maintain accurate logs, reports, and incident documentation.
• Communicate professionally with site personnel and Allied Universal leadership regarding unusual activity, maintenance concerns, and security-related observations.
