Job summary

Securitas USA is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer at the Dwight, IL site. You will protect people, property, and assets by patrolling premises, monitoring systems, and controlling access during weekend overnight shifts.

No prior experience is required, and training is provided. You will help maintain a safe environment, respond to incidents, and ensure safety protocols are followed across the property.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older and possess a high school diploma or GED.
• Above-average computer/technology skills required.
• Prior security, law enforcement, or military experience is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and provide excellent customer service.
• Must stay calm under pressure and demonstrate vigilance.

Responsibilities

The Security Officer protects people, property, and assets by patrolling premises, monitoring systems, controlling access, and responding to emergencies to maintain a safe and secure environment. They serve as a helpful professional resource while ensuring everyone on the property follows safety protocols.

What Your Day May Look Like

• Maintain a secure environment that protects employees, customers, and visitors from harm.
• Respond effectively to emergencies and security incidents to minimize risk and damage.
• Uphold company policies, safety regulations, and legal compliance standards.

• Conflict resolution and de-escalation.
• Perform access control at security entrances / exits.
• Conduct regular patrols of premises including buildings, parking lots, & entry points to identify potential security risks.
• Monitor and operate surveillance cameras, alarm systems, and security equipment.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Above average computer / technology skills needed.
• Prior Security, Law Enforcement or Military experience a plus!!
• Must be able to work independently and provide excellent customer service.
• Must have the ability to remain calm under pressure and remain vigilant throughout shift.
• Must be able to respond to emergencies with rapid / effective judgement and use appropriate escalation.
• Must have strong observational skills, excellent communication abilities, and quick decision-making capabilities.
