Job summary

Colonial Middle School in Plymouth Meeting, Pennsylvania, is seeking a Part-Time Security Guard for a 10-month position. Hours are Monday–Friday, 5 hours per day, starting immediately. Salary is $34.35 per hour.

The guard will help protect students, staff and visitors, deter theft and vandalism, and work under the district safety officer with building administrators. Availability for school events is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in security or school environment preferred.
• Ability to interact with adolescent students.
• Commitment to safety policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide support and supervision to students throughout the school day including arrival, lunch, dismissal and other times.
• Provide support and supervision for all lunch periods throughout the day.
• Perform surveillance as requested by District Safety Officer.
• Attend special events, including sporting events, performances, meetings, and graduation ceremonies, when security is needed.
• Work with lead security guard and building administrators during major incidents and coordinate with local law enforcement as needed.

Job Description

Position: Part-Time Security Guard

Hours: Monday - Friday / 5 hours per day

Location: Colonial Middle School

Availability: Immediate

Responsibilities:

Responsiblefor preserving the safety, health and welfare of students, staff members and visitors in the assigned building. The security guard should strive to prevent any theft and vandalism of school district property and the property of others while on school premises. The security guard works under the immediate supervision of the district school safety officer with secondary supervision being provided by the building principal. Candidate must be comfortablewith interacting withadolescent children.

Other Assignments:

• Provide support and supervision to students throughout the school day including, arrival, lunch, dismissal and at all other times during the school day.
• Provide support and supervision for all lunch periods throughout the day.
• Perform surveillance as requested by District Safety O?cer.
• Attend special events, including sporting events, performances, meetings, and graduation ceremonies, when the Building Administrator and the District Safety Officer determine that school security is necessary.
• Work closely with lead security guard, building administrators and other security guards during major incidents.
• Work with local law enforcement as needed.
• Perform other school security and safety duties as assigned by the District Safety Officer.
