Job summary

Allied Universal, the nation's leading security and facility services company, invites applications for a part‑time Security Officer Enhanced at our Columbus, MS site. This role offers fixed shifts with the option to pick up additional hours via our scheduling platform.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver's license, and a commitment to reliable, customer‑focused service. The role may require background checks and drug screening in compliance with policy.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check and drug screen required.
• A valid driver's license is required for driving positions.
• Minimum age 18 for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, employees, contractors, and visitors by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control policies, and emergency response activities at a manufacturing and industrial location.
• Monitor and control access to the facility by verifying identification, issuing visitor and contractor credentials, maintaining entry records, and communicating applicable site requirements.
• Observe incoming and outgoing vehicle, employee, visitor, and contractor traffic at assigned access points; report unusual activity and follow established escalation procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, access-control concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; document observations and notify appropriate personnel.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, access points, parking areas, and the business perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
