Job summary

Ivy Tech Community College of Indiana invites applications for a Part-Time Sciences Laboratory Technician at the Plainfield and Indianapolis campuses. The role provides essential lab support for natural science courses, including Anatomy & Physiology, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Earth Science, focusing on setup, cleanup, and assisting full-time staff.

Responsibilities include preparing instructional labs, keeping spaces organized, checking equipment, restocking supplies, and ensuring safety

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• College courses in biology, biotechnology, chemistry, and/or physics preferred.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook.
• Must be dependable, punctual, organized, and dedicated to supporting faculty and students.

Responsibilities

• Set-up and tear down instructional labs for science courses in the Indianapolis service area.
• Keep instructional labs and prep rooms clean and organized.
• Check equipment for proper operation.
• Restock lab items and materials as needed.
• Properly clean up and store lab supplies.
• Wash glassware and other reusable supplies and put them away.
• Comply with all safety regulations and lab procedures.
• Stay current on safety data sheet information for all chemicals in use.
