Job summary

Rondout Valley Central School District is seeking a dedicated .4 FTE School Social Worker Long-Term Substitute to support students, families, and school communities across the District. The assignment runs through November 2026.

The successful candidate will collaborate with educators and families, provide counseling services, and connect families with community resources, including homeless liaison duties under McKinney-Vento, to promote attendance and student success.

Qualifications

• Licensed clinical social work licensure required (LCSW or LMSW).
• NYSED School Social Worker Certification required.
• SED Fingerprint Clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and/or group counseling to students, including IEP-related counseling.
• Serve as District homeless liaison and communicate with community agencies.
• Refer students and families to appropriate community resources and supports.
• Participate in student support teams and special education committees.
• Support interventions to improve attendance and reduce chronic absenteeism.
• Assist families with access to needed resources.
