Job summary
Clearway School is seeking a knowledgeable Part-Time School Nurse to oversee student health services and health documentation for middle and high school students with learning disabilities. The role offers about 8–10 hours per month with additional hours during transitions, and a $200 monthly on-call stipend for phone availability during school hours.
The ideal candidate holds MA School Nurse certification, an MA RN license, and a Bachelor's in Nursing, with experience in school health,
Qualifications
- Valid certification as a School Nurse in Massachusetts.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing or a related field.
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts.
- Strong knowledge of child health issues and medication administration protocols.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Completion of DPH requirements for school nurses with 6.5 hours training; training time compensated.
Responsibilities
- Review student health information before admission and annually.
- Maintain complete health records including immunizations and physicals.
- Oversee medication administration procedures and storage.
- Maintain records for allergies and medications; update IHCPs when needed.
- Conduct school health screenings and provide on-site nursing care.
- Train staff on medication administration and health-related procedures.
- Coordinate health services with families, staff, and providers.
- Update Health Care Manual and ensure DESE/DPH compliance.
