Job summary

Alma del Mar Charter School in New Bedford, MA is looking for a part-time Registered Nurse to support our medical office and ensure scholars' health needs are met. The RN will monitor ill students or staff, supervise medications, run the school medical office independently, attend field trips, administer first aid, and participate in emergency services as needed.

Qualified candidates hold a MA RN license, CPR certification, and have experience with children in school settings; bilingual

Qualifications

Must hold a current, valid Registered Nurse License in Massachusetts.
Experience working with children and families in a school or community setting preferred.
CPR Certified.

Responsibilities

Monitor students or staff who are ill.
Supervise prescribed medical treatments and medication administration in accordance with regulations.
Run a school medical office independently.
Attend field trips with students with high medical needs.
Administer first aid as needed.
Participate in emergency services for students and staff in the event of sudden illness or injury.
Provide assessment, planning, intervention, evaluation, management, and referral for appropriate medical care of students with acute or chronic health conditions.
Prepare health reports for Nurse Leader, Department of Education and Department of Public Health.
