MSD DECATUR TOWNSHIP is seeking a Part-Time Custodian to keep school facilities clean, safe, and orderly during a 29-hour work week in Indianapolis. The role reports to the Head Custodian and includes routine custodial tasks, event setup, and safety reporting.

Qualifications

• Cleans restrooms, classrooms, offices, and common areas.
• Operates cleaning equipment and uses cleaning chemicals safely.
• Maintains floors, furniture, and fixtures to district standards, reports hazards.

Responsibilities

• Cleans restrooms, dressing rooms, shower rooms, classrooms, offices, hallways, and common areas.
• Stocks toilet paper, paper towels, soap, and other sanitary supplies.
• Vacuums, sweeps, mops, and otherwise maintains floors.
• Dusts and cleans furniture, woodwork, walls, fixtures, and other surfaces.
• Empties and cleans waste and recycling receptacles.
• Washes windows, walls, and other assigned surfaces.
• Cleans and disinfects areas as required.
• Sets up and prepares rooms for meetings, athletic events, activities, and other special events.
• Reports needed repairs, maintenance concerns, safety hazards, and building issues to the appropriate supervisor.
• Performs floor care, including waxing, stripping, refinishing, and other required floor maintenance.
• Operates carpet-cleaning equipment and shampoos carpets as assigned.
• Picks up paper, trash, and other debris from building grounds and exterior areas.
• Moves and/or rearranges furniture, chairs, desks, tables, and other equipment as needed.
• Maintains assigned areas in accordance with district cleanliness and safety standards.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Head Custodian.
