Job summary

Gadsden School District 32 is seeking a part-time Cook to support the food service program district-wide. The role involves cooking breakfast and lunch items, following recipes to meet nutritional standards, and maintaining a sanitary kitchen. Bilingual is preferred.

The position reports to the Cafeteria Manager and the working calendar is 180 days per year. Responsibilities include cash handling at the point of sale, preparing items for events, and ensuring compliance with health and safety

Qualifications

• Experience with increasing levels of responsibility is required.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Criminal Justice Fingerprint/Background Clearance, IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.

Responsibilities

• Cleans kitchen and maintains sanitary conditions.
• Cooks breakfast and lunch foods per recipes and nutritional standards.
• Estimates food preparation amounts to meet meal requirements and minimize waste.
• Operates point of sale system for payments and student counts.
• Prepares food and beverages for prescribed meals and events.
• Reports equipment malfunctions to keep equipment safe.
