Job summary

Cedar Rapids Community School District is seeking a part-time School Bus Driver in the ELSC Transportation department in Cedar Rapids, IA. You will transport CRCSD students on morning and afternoon routes and assist with student behavior according to district policies.

This is a safety-sensitive position with random drug tests and FMCSA requirements. The role offers 25 hours per week, summers off, and a nine-month calendar.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Obtain and maintain a valid Class B CDL license with proper endorsement.
• Obtain and maintain a valid DOT physical and Medical Certificate per FMCSA.
• Pass pre-employment and periodic background history checks and drug/alcohol testing.
• Register and maintain an account with the FMCSA Clearinghouse.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport students to and from school on morning and afternoon routes.
• Effectively manage student behavior and maintain safety inside the bus.
• Maintain professional communication with staff, parents, and the community.
• Complete required trainings, reports, and paperwork in a timely manner.
