Job summary

First Student, Inc. in Detroit, MI is hiring a Part-Time School Bus Driver to start and end students' days, with potential hours for field trips and events. The role features split AM/PM routes, weekday shifts only, and no night work.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid CDL-B license.
• Must hold Passenger (P) Endorsement.
• Must hold School Bus (S) Endorsement.
• No Air Brake restriction (or have air brakes).
• PDDP/Drug & Alcohol Program compliant.
• Able to pass a background check.
• Must meet DOT physical requirements.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport students to and from school and activities.
• Supervise boarding/unloading and assist with seatbelts and mobility aids.
• Maintain order on the bus and conduct pre-trip/post-trip inspections.
• Report mechanical issues and keep the bus clean and sanitary.
• Comply with traffic laws and company safety standards.
• Communicate with parents, school staff, and dispatch about delays or behavior.
