Job summary

Moses Lake School District 161 Transportation Dept. is seeking a part-time Bus Driver to provide safe and reliable transportation for students in Moses Lake, WA. Immediate starting date with a Friday-Friday schedule and route responsibilities.

Requires CDL with passenger endorsement, Bus Driver’s Authorization, and first aid certification. The position offers part-time hours, a recognized driver pay scale, and benefits per district policy.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Valid Washington State driver’s license.
• A commercial driver’s license. Class A or B with passenger endorsement.
• Must have a current Washington State Bus Driver’s Authorization.
• Must meet all physical and character standards as established in WAC 392-144-102.
• Must successfully complete pre-employment physical.
• Must possess a valid First Aid Card.
• Bilingual preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides safe and reliable transportation service by operating a school bus or other location specific vehicle with a fixed or changing route.
• Reports to duty on time and maintains route on time but in a safe manner.
• Physically assists passengers in evacuation of the vehicle in case of emergency.
• Immediately reports any accident or incident per Company policy.
• Informs all appropriate personnel of problems/procedures.
• Presents a neat and professional personal appearance at all times.
• Completes all required paperwork (including route change sheets, time cards, vehicle repair requests) and submits to the appropriate authority in a timely manner.
• Safely and efficiently utilizes vehicle equipment, including wheelchair lifts, radios and emergency equipment.
• Attend all assigned training, safety meetings, and in-service meetings.
• Accept responsibility for assignments and outcomes.
• Work cooperatively with other staff; maintain positive, respectful relationships and engagements.
• Maintain punctuality and regular attendance.
• Maintain district assigned email account; read and respond to messages regularly.
• Other such job-related tasks as assigned.
