Job summary

Behavioral Emotional and Academic Mentoring LLC is seeking a Part-Time instructional assistant to provide direct support to students with special needs within Lynwood Unified School District. You will work under school staff guidance, assist in preparing instructional activities, and help maintain an organized, positive classroom environment.

Responsibilities include supporting teachers during lessons, reinforcing skills with small groups, assisting with adaptive devices and classroom

Qualifications

• Ability to understand and anticipate the needs of children.
• Operate classroom technology equipment.
• Understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with children and adults.
• Maintain professionalism and confidentiality.
• Show competence and assist with academic skills, e.g. reading and math.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support to students with special needs.
• Assist in developing instructional activities and materials.
• Assist staff with in-class activities following instructions.
• Keep materials and equipment organized in a neat classroom.
• Reinforce lessons with small groups of learners.
• Assist with crisis intervention and discipline as needed.
• Participate in program planning meetings when requested.
