Job summary

LEARN Academy in Tolleson, AZ seeks a part-time School-Based Physical Therapist to support students with special needs. You will work with teachers, families, and the IEP team to evaluate needs, develop treatment plans, and deliver therapy in the school setting.

This role offers onsite work with some hybrid hours, W2 hourly pay DOE, and a 401K. Doctor of Physical Therapy required; prior experience in school-based services is a plus.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from an accredited program.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations of students' physical abilities and needs.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans aligned with IEP goals.
• Provide direct physical therapy services to improve strength, mobility, coordination, and balance.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and IEP team members to support classroom participation.
• Assist in selection and use of assistive devices and adaptive equipment.
• Monitor and document student progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
• Participate in IEP meetings and share insights on progress and interventions.
• Train school staff on techniques to support students' physical needs throughout the day.
• Mentor or supervise assistants or students in the PT community.
• Advocate for students' needs within the educational system.
