Job summary

Brigham Young University is seeking a part-time Scholarly Publishing Assistant to support the Scholarly Publishing Manager in daily operations of ScholarsArchive, BYU's institutional repository for faculty and student research.

The role involves project management, training student employees, and frontline customer service for the Scholarly Publishing unit, with a focus on efficient publication workflows.

Qualifications

• High school diploma with 1 year library or supervisory experience.
• Bachelor's degree with 1 year publishing/library/customer service/project management and supervisory experience.
• Ability to follow established procedures and to perform work with meticulous attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Manage electronic theses, dissertations, and honors theses each semester.
• Oversee ongoing student employee projects, such as the Faculty CV upload project.
• Upload one-off issues for established student-run journals in ScholarsArchive.
• Train, mentor, and supervise Scholarly Publishing student employees.
• Serve as the first point of contact for the Scholarly Publishing email account.
