Job summary

Peak Toolworks in Jasper, Indiana is seeking a Part-Time Saw Grinder I/Sandblaster on second shift. The role is 4-5 hours per day, 4-5 days per week, with hands-on machining to sharpen carbide saw blades.

You will learn machine setups, grinding, and sandblasting while following safety and 6S practices. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED and an eagerness to learn, with basic math and the ability to read instructions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Previous manufacturing experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and follow written work instructions.
• Basic understanding of shop mathematics and measurement techniques.
• Ability to use precision measuring instruments, including calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, and gauges.
• Mechanical aptitude and the ability to learn and operate production equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain machines used to sharpen carbide saw blades.
• Inspect blades for cracks, chips, and necessary repairs.
• Perform repair tasks, including brazing when needed.
• Assist with shipping and receiving tasks to ensure smooth operations.
• Follow safety policies, 6S practices, and quality requirements.
