Job summary

Torrey Holistics is seeking a Part-Time entry-level Saw Grinder I/Sandblaster to join our team on the second shift. You will learn to operate and manage multiple machines for sharpening carbide saw blades in a hands-on role that emphasizes attention to detail and learning the tools and processes needed for success.

Responsibilities include operating machines, inspecting blades, performing brazing repairs, and assisting with shipping and receiving to keep production flowing smoothly.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Previous manufacturing experience is preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and follow written work instructions.
• Basic understanding of shop mathematics and measurement techniques.
• Ability to use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, and gauges.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to learn and operate a variety of production equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain machines used to sharpen/grind carbide saw blades.
• Inspect saw blades for cracks, chips, and necessary repairs.
• Perform repair tasks, including removing and replacing damaged tips using a torch and brazer shaft.
• Assist with shipping and receiving tasks to ensure smooth operations.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow 6S practices.
• Produce and inspect items while meeting print and quality requirements.
