Dover Behavioral Health System seeks a Part Time Admissions Counselor (RN) to deliver high-quality assessment and admissions services. This role involves coordinating admissions from other facilities and providing information to insurance providers.

The position is part-time and includes a benefits package. Ideal candidates hold a Delaware nursing license, BLS certification, and leadership experience, with health care and behavioral health experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Current license to practice nursing in Delaware required.
• Current BLS certification required.
• Charge Nurse/Leadership experience required.
• Behavioral Health/Psychiatric experience preferred.
• Mental Health Screener Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive psychiatric and/or chemical dependency assessments.
• Provide service to physicians, allied health professionals, hospital EDs, schools, and other healthcare providers.
• Respond to inquiries seeking mental health care or information about services.
• Document crisis calls and intake data for tracking and analysis.
• Coordinate admissions from other facilities and treatment centers.
• Help patients and families adjust to hospital admissions and explain emotional/social responses to illness.
• Develop crisis safety plans for patients referred to outpatient care and coordinate discharge plans.
• Provide thorough clinical information to insurance companies to meet requirements.
