Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations, customer service, and team development at our location in Michigan. You will assist with opening/closing, merchandising, payroll and scheduling, and loss prevention while ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for customers and associates.

The role emphasizes strong communication, problem-solving, and the ability to lead a high-energy team in a fast-paced retail setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read and interpret directives
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store preferred
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform physical tasks as needed
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment
• Excellent customer service, organization, and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner
• Organize merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor
• Perform opening and closing procedures
• Process all corporate directives and store communications
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged goods, payroll and scheduling
• Maintain clean, well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom
• Protect and secure store assets including cash
• Adhere to safety policies and train store associates
• Supervise, train, and develop Store Associates
• Maintain a safe, respectful environment with customers and staff
• Ensure store cleanliness and proper restocking of bathrooms and floors
• Other duties as assigned
