Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores, located in Prospect Heights, IL, is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run daily store operations, deliver outstanding customer service, and develop the team. You will assist with merchandise organization and store procedures to ensure a smooth shopping experience.

You will support payroll, scheduling, loss prevention, merchandising, and safety compliance while maintaining a clean and welcoming store for guests and associates.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; able to read, interpret directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environments preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, and bending.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns they may have.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and store communications.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays to standard.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies, safety guidelines, and ensure staff compliance.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe environment with professional interactions.
• Keep store clean, restocked, and presentable including bathrooms, floors, and trash areas.
• Other duties as assigned.
