Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Flora, IL to support store operations, customer service and team development. You will assist with day-to-day activities, help customers, organize merchandise, and execute opening/closing procedures.

Responsibilities include processing directives, maintaining displays, payroll/scheduling, cash deposits, loss prevention, and keeping the store clean and organized. You will train and supervise associates to ensure a safe, friendly environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical activities as needed.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays for storefronts.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping (including payroll, scheduling, and cash deposits/receipts), and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies, procedures, safety guidelines, and ensure associates follow them.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers, associates, and leaders.
• Ensure cleanliness throughout the store, including bathrooms, floors, trash, and neat presentation.
• Other duties as assigned.
