Job summary

GOODWILL CENTRAL COAST is seeking a Part-Time Retail Associate in Scotts Valley, CA to support store operations, greet donors and customers, and promote sales. You will help process donations, assist shoppers, and maintain a welcoming environment.

Training is provided for cash handling and POS use; the role includes opening/closing procedures, inventory stocking, markdowns, and ensuring safety and cleanliness. Basic English required; Spanish desirable.

Qualifications

• Education: high school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience: none required; sales experience preferred.
• Basic math ability.
• Cash handling and POS knowledge learned on the job.
• Familiarity with Goodwill's mission and store policies.
• Familiarity with cash registers.

Responsibilities

• Greet donors and customers and assist with product selections.
• Handle cash transactions after training using the register system.
• Assist with store opening/closing procedures.
• Merchandise inventory on the sales floor and rearrange for appeal and safety.
• Assist with stock rotation and markdowns as directed by Store Manager.
• Prepare donations and rotated merchandise for transfer to central processing.
• Report problems or safety issues to Store Manager.
