Job summary

Gnome Games Appleton East is seeking a part-time Retail Gnome to join our team. You will blend retail sales, customer service, event support, and community engagement to create an exceptional guest experience.

Ideal candidates have retail or customer service experience and a passion for board games, CCGs, and tabletop gaming. Availability Monday/Wednesday openings and Saturdays is preferred, with an hourly pay of $14–$15 depending on experience.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist customers in a friendly, welcoming manner.
• Recommend board games, trading card games, and hobby products based on customer interests.
• Learn product knowledge to help customers make informed purchasing decisions.
• Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently.
• Stock shelves, organize displays, and maintain a clean and inviting store environment.
• Assist with receiving and organizing incoming inventory.
• Help host and facilitate in-store events, tournaments, leagues, and community gatherings.
• Welcome new players and help create an inclusive environment for all experience levels.
• Answer questions about events, products, and store programs.
• Assist with event setup, organization, and cleanup.
• Help maintain a fun, engaging atmosphere during busy events and peak store hours.

Position Details

Location: Gnome Games Appleton East

Hours: Part-time (24-30 hrs)

Pay: $14-$15 per hour, depending on experience and interview performance

Availability: Ideal candidates are available Monday/Wednesday opening shifts, with Saturday availability.

As a Retail Gnome, you'll take on a dynamic role that blends retail sales, customer service, event support, and community engagement.

Retail & Customer Service

Who You Are

We're looking for someone who:

• Has retail or customer service experience (preferred)
• Has knowledge of or an interest in board games, collectible card games (CCGs), tabletop gaming, or related hobbies (preferred)
• Has experience hosting events, leading groups, teaching games, or working with communities (preferred)
• Brings high energy and enthusiasm to every shift
• Is reliable, punctual, and dependable
• Communicates clearly and professionally with customers and coworkers
• Enjoys working as part of a team while also taking initiative independently
• Can confidently interact with and manage large groups of people during events
• Remains calm, organized, and customer-focused during busy periods
• Is eager to learn and grow within the hobby gaming industry
