Job summary

The Michaels Companies, Inc. in Katy, TX is seeking a Merchandise Manager to drive merchandising and operational execution, including truck processing, inventory routines, planogram sets, and visual standards, ensuring accurate pricing and timely promotions.

You will lead workload planning, stock optimization, ship-from-store, and in-store execution while coaching a team toward a customer-ready environment and strong shrink control.

Qualifications

• 3+ years retail leadership experience.
• Experience leading merchandising and store operations.
• Willing to work nights, weekends, and early mornings.

Responsibilities

• Lead SOP adherence and company programs to ensure legal compliance and policy execution.
• Ensure policies and standards are followed, with accountability for store conditions and results.
• Provide Manager-on-Duty coverage, maintaining floor leadership and service standards.
• Lead truck execution, ensuring timely unloading and merch flow to the sales floor.
• Plan workload and daily tasks, aligning staffing with business needs.
• Maintain Store-In-Stock Optimization routines to support in-stock levels and replenishment.
• Oversee Planogram execution, ensuring sets are completed accurately and on schedule.
• Establish and maintain visual merchandising standards and product presentation.
• Support a clean, organized, customer-ready store environment, including backroom organization.
• Manage inventory control, ensuring accuracy and proper stock movement.
• Execute price changes accurately and on time across the sales floor and systems.
• Oversee Ship from Store fulfillment and related processes.
• Process RTVs and ASN receiving with proper documentation.
• Manage shrink reduction through asset protection practices.
• Train, coach, and develop team members through onboarding and ongoing skill-building.
• Partner in maintaining strong Asset Protection practices.
